​Tot Dance                              

Ages 2-3.  No previous training.

A fun-filed movement class for 2 to 3 year olds.  Tots experiment with music, rhythm, instruments, scarves, bubbles, counting, expression, and taking turns. Tap shoes, non-skid socks, and comfortable clothing or dance attire required.

 

Creative Movement I/II

Ages 3-5.  

 A tap/ballet combo class for 3 to 5 year olds.  This class is filled with excitement and exploration.  This structured yet fun class introduces children to the basic fundamentals of tap and ballet.  Children learn how to clap rhythms, form lines, take turns, isolate movements, work with others, respect their peers and teachers, and have fun.  GET READY; once your child takes this class they will be tapping to the music and twirling around the house!

 

Ballet/Tap/Jazz I

Ages 5-7.

This class is designed for the Kindergartner and 1st grader.  Students learn the basic fundamentals of tap, ballet and jazz positions.  Students begin to make patterns with their movements and combine steps to make short combinations across the floor.  Students are given the chance to create their own rhythms and express themselves freely through music and dance.

 

​Ballet/Tap/Jazz II

Ages 7-9

Students who have to be moving will love this class.  Students learn basic tap and jazz combinations to fast/popular music.  After completing this class students will be ready to enter tap and jazz class.Beginner-intermediate. 



​Acro 

All Ages.

An excellent workout for children of all ages!  The class includes warm-up, posture, stretch, and flexibility exercises.  Students condition the upper, mid, and lower body.  Beginning level students are taught basic skills including splits, forward rolls, backbends, handstands, cartwheels, and round-offs.  After the basic skills are mastered, students progress to advanced skills including handsprings, aerials, and tucks.  Dancers benefit greatly from the body awareness, balance, and coordination learned in acrobatics classes.

​Ballet 

Ages 7 & up. 

Ballet is the foundation of all dance.  Students will learn discipline of mind and body, coordination, grace and poise, good posture and proper body placement, body positions, and they will benefit from muscle toning.



​Pointe

Ages 12-up.

Students may begin taking Pointe after they have studied ballet consistently for three years, have a good turn out, proper balance and body placement, understand their center, have sufficient strength in their feet, legs, & spine, a strong abdomen, and be at least 12 years old and in good physical health.  Once the criteria are met dancers will learn how to dance on Pointe shoes and be able to perform ballet movements with strength and control.



​Jazz 

Ages 12-up. 

A stylized form of the theatrical dancing conceived in America.  Students learn how to stretch, align, and place their bodies properly to fun music and movement exercises.  Students learn how to perform exciting jumps  leaps, turns and intricate combinations throughout their years of jazz training.



​Tap

Ages 9 and up.

A form of dance in which, the feet create rhythmic sounds.  Students learn how to count and listen to music, create rhythms with their own body, which is considered their  instrument.

​

Hip Hop

Ages 5-13.  

This class is for the students who want to dance like the dancers in the Gap and JC Penney commercials.  This class is made up of intricate body isolations and fast movements to popular, fast paced music.

 

Lyrical

Age 12 and up.

An expressive form of dance that combines ballet, jazz and modern techniques while telling a story to the audience.  This integrated form allows the student to learn self-expression, inner awareness, qualityof movement, the understandingof musical dynamics and character portrayal.  Lyrical is extremely technical and emphasizes the importance of fluidity in dance.  It is suitable for students with experience in ballet and jazz.  

 

Liturgical

Ages 7 & up

A graceful and spiritual class set to Christian music.  The pure music and movement foster a love of dance and music through Christian words.  

 

Piano

Ages  7 & up 

Students wioll learn the basic piano skills in a fun and comfortable enviroment.  Each student is allowed to learn at their own pace, without the pressure of a schedule (though daily practice is a must).  As each student learns differently, lessons are customized to fit the ability of the student.  Lessons are individual, 30- minute sessions with individed attention given to each student.

 

Voice

Ages 8 to adult

Beginning to advanced coaching in Musical Theater, Classical and Pop styles with attention to posture, breath, vocal production and presentation. 

 

Adult Jazz

Exercise with a jazzy, energetic twist.  Beginning with a warm up and plenty of stretch, followed by across the floor progressions and fun dance combinations, you will move and groove to the latest pop music as well as the good ‘ole classics from eras back!

***If you have a fitness punch card or have a student enrolled in OADPA dance classes then the fee is $20
